High-Resolution Audio Design
The Bowers & Wilkins Px8 represents the flagship model in the brand's wireless headphone lineup. Unlike the entry-level Px7 S2, the Px8 utilizes custom-engineered 40mm Carbon Cone drive units. These drivers are angled within each ear cup to ensure a consistent distance from the listener's ear across the entire surface of the diaphragm, which reduces distortion and improves stereo imaging. The headphones support aptX Adaptive wireless technology, allowing for 24-bit high-resolution streaming from compatible mobile devices.
Construction and Ergonomics
Constructed with premium materials, the Px8 features cast aluminum arms and Nappa leather trim on the earpads and headband. The physical interface relies on tactile buttons rather than touch sensitive surfaces, identifying a preference for precise control. For noise management, the system uses six microphones: four dedicated to active noise cancellation (ANC) and two for voice pickup during calls. The ANC system is designed to filter out ambient sound without altering the character of the music output.
Performance and Connectivity
The Px8 offers a battery life of up to 30 hours on a single charge. A 15-minute quick charge provides approximately seven hours of additional playback. Users can manage device settings, including EQ adjustments and transparency modes, through the Bowers & Wilkins Music App. While primarily a Bluetooth device, the Px8 includes both a USB-C to 3.5mm analog cable and a standard USB-C cable for wired digital listening, which bypasses the internal battery for continued use.
